After dishing out a mind-blowing set, RJD2 was the original reason why I and three friends drove 3 & 1/2 hours down to Baltimore; 49 Winchester were unknown to us. Accessible to many people across many different backgrounds, 49 Winchester really nails it on the head combining traditional instruments with new age technology to come up with a sound that to me is very. I had never before been to any concert venue where the predominant form of music is electronic. The energy in the place was intoxicating even for someone who is normally only a social drinker. Extremely impressive as well, the venue itself is. No matter where you were, you could find a place to see the stage, with dozens of high-definition tv's and two floors above overlooking the stage. In the mood to stay and check out something else new after RJD2 finished, I was dishing out a mind-blowing set. Since I come from a normally rock, metal, and blues background, seeing that 49 Winchester is a full band with actual instruments was really appealing to me. There were attendants in the bathroom that would put soap on your hands for you and dry your hands as well, which is a rare experience to have. I was never opposed to adding in equipment like computers and keyboards as long as they were used effectively and creatively throughout a set. In the bathroom, many kinds of mints, "protection", and other nick-knacks could be purchased. Over the course of the night, I lost my friends somewhere in the place but it didn't matter because I was in the front row having a great time! I tipped the attendant $1 for each trip I made to the bathroom, which seemed pretty fair. I highly encourage everyone with an open mind for music to go see these guys; you will not regret it!
